This page covers the TapWheel app and this website. TapWheel is made by Jax (muxover). If anything here is unclear, write to contact@muxover.com.

The app

TapWheel doesn't collect, send or store anything about you. It makes no network connections: no account, no telemetry, no crash reports, no ads and no update checks. The Microsoft Store version is updated by the Store itself.

Files you drop on the wheel are processed on your PC by engines that ship inside the app, such as FFmpeg and the background removal model. The results are saved in the same folder as the original. Nothing is uploaded.

To notice when you tap Shift, Ctrl or Alt during a drag, TapWheel watches keyboard and mouse input while it runs. It only reacts to those keys, Tab and Esc, keeps no record of what you type or click, and passes every key and click on to Windows unchanged.

TapWheel saves its settings (your keys, the options in its window, how often you pick each slice so favourites can move to the top, and the folders you last moved files to) in %APPDATA%\TapWheel\settings.toml on your PC. Uninstalling the Store version removes it, and Remove from this PC in the zip version's tray menu deletes it.

When something goes wrong, TapWheel writes the error to %LOCALAPPDATA%\TapWheel\tapwheel.log on your PC so the problem can be found later. It holds error messages and the names of the files involved, never what you type, keeps itself under 256 KB and is deleted with the rest by Remove from this PC. It never leaves your PC unless you send it to someone.

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. TapWheel's source code is public on GitHub, so anyone can check what the app does.
